Bill Sali to Lead the Republican Freshmen

No kiddiing.  Crazy Bill Sali, newly elected Congressman from ID -01, has been elected class president of the incoming Republican House freshman.  A diarist at Dailykos, brittain33, tells us that the very small class of 13 new members chose Sali to represent them, as the class before them chose slightly less nutty Cathy McMorris.

CORRECTION: McMorris was the Freshman Class representative on the Steering Committee and on the Republican Whip Team, not the Class President.  As a commenter pointed out, Bobby Jindal (LA-01) was elected Republican Class President in 2004.

Only very slightly less nutty, if that, as The General's references to her alma mater (http://patriotboy.blogspot.com/2006_11_19_patriotboy_archive.html#116408303100487011) make clear.

Sali's a political nut and wacko, but he has at least garnered a bit of real life-experience as a salesman, farmer, and musician. McMorris, OTOH, has spent her entire life sheltered (one might say "cloistered", but that's a different religious tradition) away from anything resembling reality. She was "educated" at a far-out Christian college that makes Bob Jones University look like a worldly place (and like an educational institution). And she's been shepherded by her family and their friends throughout her "work" life, handed a seat in the state House, hand-picked for the WA-05 seat.

I thought Rep. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) was the class president last time around.

Oops. Yes, you are correct. McMorris was selected or perhaps elected to be the Republican Freshman Class whip and representative to the Steering Committee.

I'm sorry, although this is indeed accurate: {Sali's a political nut and wacko}.....this is NOT {but he has at least garnered a bit of real life-experience as a salesman, farmer, and musician.}

Mr. Sali is NOT a farmer; my father IS a farmer and comes from Mr. Sali's district, as well as the local community - which I might add, I also grew up in. Salesman: Wellll, yeahhh...bullshit....a musician - at church. He is an attorney by occupation having graduated from the Univ. of Idaho.
