Good Polling News for Initiatives

Our initiative campaigns got some good polling news today.

The state's first-ever Washington Poll found
that a majority of voters oppose Initiative 933, a land-use measure on
the ballot in Tuesday's general election.

The poll shows that a majority also oppose an initiative to repeal the state's estate tax.

Of
the three initiatives on the ballot, only I-937, the alternative energy
proposal, had the support of a majority of registered voters in the
survey.

Let's keep up the fight for the next few days.  Then we can all kick back and celebrate on election night!

Thank you to everyone in the progressive community for all your support for Yes on 937, No on 933 and No on 920. But, don't for a second think you can let down your guard before election day. Polling on initiatives are notoriously inaccurate compared to candidate polls.

So, please keep pitching in with the phone calls, the sign-waving and door-knocking for any or all of the campaigns. And please e-mail all your friends and family to tell them to vote No! on Initiatives 933 and 920 and Yes! on I-937.

Finally, come help us all celebrate on election night. The No on 920, No on 933, and Yes on 937 campaigns will be celebrating together at the Seattle Sheraton on election night.
