Politics the term used to describe the way that groups of people come to decisions about the actions they will undertake collaboratively. Politics is derived from the Greek word politika. The Greek is taken from the name of a book of theory by Aristotle of the same name. It is used to mean “affairs of state.” Politics involves the attempts of different sides in a political debate to convince other members of government to pass laws which suit their preference. These sides are often organized into different political parties. While the United States has only two dominant parties, politics in other countries may consist of many political parties.

There are two major conflicts between political theories. The first is the conflict between the left and the right. The left is generally seen as more progressive and seeking to eradicate social inequalities, while the right is generally conservative and sees social inequalities and an intrinsic part of human existence. The other major arguments in politics take place between libertarians and authoritarians. Libertarians value a strong individual and a weak state. Authoritarian politics support a weak individual and an empowered state. Libertarian politics support as great a reduction in the size, scope and authority of the government as feasible, while authoritarian politics support a further consolidation of governmental control. There are various degrees of left, right, libertarian, and authoritarian view. Often with in a single political party different members may espouse libertarian and authoritarian beliefs. It is rare, however for a political party to contain approaches that are liberal, conservative, libertarian, and authoritative within a single unified political party. Political parties worried about many political issues often fracture before very long. A political debate is the primary method used by parties to resolves these political concerns.

Political campaigns are the primary times during which a political party reevaluates its priorities and where the party is heading. Political campaigns determines the party’s political concerns. A political campaign provides an opportunity for the country in which the election is about to take place an opportunity to evaluate political issues. Political campaigns allow the population to determine if they wish to grant the government already in power with the approval to carry on their existing approaches to political concerns, or if the major political issues require a new approach. Depending on the opinions of the population the government may be forced to address new political issues and political concerns. While ideally political campaigns would be won or lost based on the merits of the party’s stances on political concerns, this is not always the case. A political campaign can be affected political issues raised by ads run by both the candidate as well as the opposition. A political campaign can be lost due to rumors and allegations which may not address political issues. A political campaign can be lost due to events beyond a candidate’s control, such as natural disasters, or political campaigns can be won due to the candidates ability to adapt to ever changing circumstances. The most important thing that a political campaign is to remember whey they are attempting to be elected in the first place: to serve the people.

A political debate is the primary method used by parties to resolves these political differences. There are many opportunities for politicians to take part in a political debate during the course of a campaign. The first political debate often occurs within the candidate for political office’s own party. The organization of a political debate is one of the primary ways that candidates secure their parties nominations A candidate will not have to engage in a political debate if he is running unopposed. An unopposed election is rare, and usually only occurs in elections for local office or during the primary season if the candidate is an incumbent with the support of the party. If not, the candidate may have to engage at least two series of political debates. The first political debate would be intra-party, pitting the candidate against a member of the same party, followed by a political debate against a member of a different party when attempting to secure the seat. It is rare for there to be just one political debate between candidates. Often there are a series of debates, with each political debate focusing on a specific topic. The winner of the political debates is afforded the opportunity to set policy and often wins the election, although a strong political argument does not always result in victory in a political debate. Style is often as important as substance.

Politics the term used to describe the way that groups of people come to decisions about the actions they will undertake collaboratively. Politics is derived from the Greek word politika. The Greek is taken from the name of a book of theory by Aristotle of the same name. It is used to mean “affairs of state.” Although the word is generally used to refer to the actions and the forces involved in civil governments, religious, social, corporate, and academic institutions all employ tactics that are political in nature.

Politics involves the attempts of different sides in a debate to convince other members of government to pass laws which suit their preference. These sides are often organized into different political parties. While the United States has only two dominant parties, the Republican party and the Democratic party, politics in other countries may consist of many political parties. It is rare, however for a political party to contain approaches that are liberal, conservative, libertarian, and authoritative within a single unified political party. Political parties which are pulled in so many different directions often fracture before very long.

In the United States political self identification which most people use is Democrat. When asked to name their political identification, thirty five percent of all Americans said Democrat. Democratic politics have become extremely popular over the last decade. The White House is currently occupied by Democrat Barak Obama. Most governorships are filled by a Democrat, as are the majority of seats in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Democratic politics are generally authoritative on the role of government, while democratic politics take libertarian stance on the rights of individual. Democratic politics are generally liberal, although in the south there is a trend for democratic politics to lean toward more moderate positions. Some Democrats also can be conservatives. As a result democratic politics are able to be less exclusively understood than are Republican policies. Recent legislative goals encouraged by Democrats have been the passing of universal health care. This is an example of the blend of libertarianism and authoritarianism. While it forces the government into a more authoritarian role in ensuring medical coverage for everyone it is libertarian because it seeks to put the right of the individual ahead of those of the few who manage health care.

Current Republican politics are generally considered to be libertarian and conservative. It is rare to encounter a Republican espousing authoritarian view on any issue not related to law enforcement. The libertarian trend in Republican politics was advocated by Ronald Reagan, whose presidency has set off a conservative Republican revolution lasting more than thirty years. Republican politics as expressed in the Republican presidential platforms in recent years have been supportive of a free market in the economy. Some critics accuse Republican relaxation of financial regulation of bearing responsibility for the recent woes on Wall Street. Republican politics have been slow to accept the idea of global warming, support overturning abortion, are in favor of increased gun ownership, and critical of affirmative action. Obstructionist Republican politics in the Congress have caused leading political analysts to wonder what, if any, price Republican may be forced to pay during the mid-term elections. Republicans point to the 2009 elections of Chris Christie in New Jersey and Bob McDonnell in Virginia, and the election of Scott Brown to the seat previously held by Ted Kennedy, as proof that Republican politics are as popular as ever.

Politics the term used to describe the way that groups of people come to decisions about the actions they will undertake collaboratively. Politics is derived from the Greek word politika. It is used to mean “affairs of state.” Although the word is generally used to refer to the actions and the forces involved in civil governments, religious, social, corporate, and academic institutions all employ tactics that are political in nature.

Political parties which are pulled in so many different directions often fracture before very long.

Coalition governments are governments in which many different political parties combine in order to allow the government to function. In Germany coalition government is the norm. This is the case because it is rare for any political party, whether the Christian-Democratic Union of Germany, the Christian Social Union in Bavaria, or the Social Democratic Party of Germany to win a simple majority of vote in an election. Therefore one of these large political parties must form an alliance with a smaller political party or combination of political parties to attain a majority share of the seats. These arraignments are common in other countries where there are not dominant political parties. Some countries where political parties unite to form coalitions include Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Turkey, Israel, New Zealand, Kosovo, Pakistan, Kenya, and India. In contrast to coalition governments are countries in which there is only a single political party. Examples include China, Vietnam, Cuba, Eritrea, North Korea, Laos, Syria, and Turkmenistan. The most famous historic example of a country run by a single political power is Soviet Russia.

Politics the term used to describe the way that groups of people come to decisions about the actions they will undertake collaboratively. Politics is derived from the Greek word politika. The Greek is taken from the name of a book of theory by Aristotle of the same name. It is used to mean “affairs of state.” Although the word is generally used to refer to the actions and the forces involved in civil governments, religious, social, corporate, and academic institutions all employ tactics that are politic. The word politic is related to the idea of very prudent and careful decision making. Politic is rarely used in current conversations of writings. The use of the word politic as an adjective related to politics has been largely supplanted by the word political. The only common appearance of the word is to describe a “body politic,” which refers to the collective body of a country’s organized citizens.

As an area of study, politics primary examines group dynamics between large groups of people and how these interactions form policy and influence decisions. People who engage in the study of politics are referred to as political scientists. Students of politics have two equally viable areas to which they can devote their attention. Both areas of study require a grasp of political theory, however. The first method to study politics examines the historic development of governments. The other method to study politics examines how political factions interact.

Politics examines the various attempts by the different sides to convince the other to pass laws which suit their preference. These sides are often organized into different political parties. While the United States has only two dominant parties, the Republican party and the Democratic party, politics in other countries may consist of many political parties. There are two major conflicts between political theories. The first is the conflict between the left and the right. The left is generally seen as more progressive and seeking to irradiate social inequalities, while the right is generally conservative and sees social inequalities and an intrinsic part of human existence. Some individuals may, for example, support libertarian social policy and authoritarian economic policy.

There are many different expressions of politics in different forms of government. These expressions include anarchy, which is a system of politics in which no one is in charge, as well as autocracy, a version of politics where one person is in charge. Two other competing political view points are oligarchy, which is when politics are managed by few people, and democracy, where a country politics are governed by the majority. An alternative expression of politics is a republic, where politics is determined by law.
